About The Book

This book constructs a bridge between International Trade and Inclusive Development. For long International Trade has been assumed as growth promoter. Dr. Chandan Roy is Assistant Professor and Head. Department of Economics. Kaliyaganj College. After completion of M.Sc. in Economics (Special field: International Trade) from Calcutta University in 1994, he joined a weakly business tabloid Business Economics as Researcher and Business Reporter and then worked in a Bengali daily Bartaman. He also worked freelancer in different newsletters or Indian Express Groups and published many articles on Business and Commerce. Afterwards, he acquired M.Phil in Eronomics from Jadavpur University and Ph.D. from University or North Bengal. The title or his Ph.D. thesis was 'Artisanal Silk Industry of West Bengal: A Study on its History, Performance and Current Problems' He served various reputed colleges before joining Kaliyaganj College in 2011. He actively participated in constructing Uttar Dinajpur District Human Development Report-2010 under the aegis of Planning Commission, Government of India and outlined the draft of Livelihood Chapter in that project and published 22 papers In national and international referred journals including few edited volumes. He worked as Editor (In 'Right to Education: An Accelerator of Social Transformation and Economic Development'), 'Guest Editor' (in a special issue of 'Indian Journal of Social and Natural Sciences') and 'Regional Editor, North Bengal' (for a reputed Bengali Journal Artha Bishleshan). His present work of Interest is on Women Empowerment, Regional Issues of Development and Sericulture Sector.
